A terrarium is a decorative mini garden that is grown in glass jars or glass containers. You can add plants, rocks, or even figurines to Terrariums. Terrariums are self-nourishing and require little maintenance. There are usually two types of terrariums: closed and open terrarium. A Closed Terrarium is a type of Terrarium that is suitable for tropical plants such as mosses, air plants, or ferns. The sealed glass jar, combined with the heat entering the terrarium allows for circulation of water. An Open Terrarium is a type of Terrarium that is suitable for plants that prefer less humidity and soil moisture. Plants that require direct sunlight can be used for open terrariums as well.
You will need a glass or plastic jar, slow growing plants, soil, rocks and moss to create your own mini garden. During your terrarium workshops, we provide all the materials that you need!
